The Paver is hard at work laying new road - this morning they did the north side of the bridge, the SB lane; now they're working on the south side of the bridge. No traffic will be allowed for at least 3 days to allow for proper curing, and it will be walkable by this evening. Progress!
I find it ridiculous that this project is still not done eight months after it was started. This is just a 2 lane bridge over a creek!
ReplyDeletePerhaps you should consider a career as a construction project manager, if you think it's so easy! And in case you hadn't noticed, they're doing a lot more than just replacing the bridge... the project has included sewer, water, gas and trails/sidewalks improvements as well. The real cause of missing the Oct. deadline was the gas main replacement, not the bridge itself. The bridge structure has been done for a couple of months.
ReplyDeleteI sure wouldn't want to deal with the egos of construction management, the bureaucracy of city/county/state government, complaints from residents, and the daily trials and tribulations of coordinating all those subcontractors, people and equipment across multiple projects around the city/state/region on a daily basis.
But it sure is easy to vent as "anonymous" on a blog, isn't it. Feel better? I know I do now that I've taken my turn at bitching!
