Early Start 3/17
First truck on the site was 6am today. It was Craig, the structure foreman, who comes in from Dyersville every morning. It was too dark for pictures this morning. Yesterday they got the southbound lane removed from the south side up to the first pier. They're leaving the northbound lane intact for now. But seriously, don't go messing around there - they park big equipment at either end to prevent vehicles from passing through, but people walking around just need to use some common sense.

Watershed Feasibility Study
Well, interesting. 77 square miles of the Indian and Dry Creek watersheds are going to be the subject of an Army Corps of Engineers flood protection feasibility study. Per Rick Smith, in the Gazette. More than $300k. It'll be interesting to see what comes out of all that.

Saturday, march 6
they took down a whole bunch of trees the last couple of days. good to
do it while the ground is frozen. know any tree guys who have an
informed opinion about how projects like this should go? our goal with
this blog is to provide first hand a counts of the project, and as
much background and contextual info as can be found. we're living with
this every day, and it's everyone's tax dollars at work. hope they're
being spent wisely.

This is the view of the bridge taken about 7am from the South West corner. On the North East corner, they started clearning trees a week or so ago.
