Internal Detour

Residents within the south side of the construction zone today for the first time will be routed north, across the bridge and out to Cottage Grove Pkwy. as work on the south side roadway continues.

Saturday Sunrise on Indian Creek

Come Monday the residents of the construction zone will be routed to the north so work can be done on the south approach. Most of the gas line work is yet to be done, and the sewer line still also needs to go in. Once that and then the paving is done, they will be putting in about 100 small trees all throughout the project zone.

Wednesday Morning Bridge Update

Yep, that's a semi full of rock driving down under the bridge, with a bulldozer behind it.

Gas line looking south

They started on the south end of the gas line yesterday. It's going up the west side of the road, starting at the power lines. The ditch is filled with water, perhaps as a safety measure? It is quite a mess for a few of the neighbors again. But as one neighbor said on Monday morning, "It'll be nice when it's done". Agreed.

The bridge proper is nearly done - they still have to add the 4 light posts (will be staggered east and west along the deck), but otherwise it looks pretty good to this untrained eye. But there are some big elements yet for the project to be complete - the new gas line is coming, a rail along the SW side's new retaining wall, new sewer line and of course then repaving the two approaches and finishing the grading, putting in trees etc.

Bridge update 8/20/10 4:30pm

This is part of the new gas line. It will run all along the road, then under the creek and connect to points north.
